This year the Fayetteville Free Library will offer an exciting and educational summer reading program for adults.  The series, entitled, "Water Your Mind - Green Your World" will showcase an array of entertaining and informative speakers throughout July and August, on just about every green topic under the sun.  Happy Reading!

 SYRACUSE CENTER OF EXCELLENCE

To Kickoff Adult Summer Reading Program, the FFL will host a talk by Syracuse Center of Excellence Director of Communications, Martin Walls. The Syracuse CoE engages collaborators at 200+ companies to address global challenges in clean and renewable energy, indoor environmental quality, and water resources. Members conduct targeted research, demonstrate new technologies, commercialize innovations, and educate the workforce. Syracuse CoE’s LEED-Platinum designed headquarters building in downtown Syracuse—a living laboratory to research and demonstrate green building products and services—was dedicated in March 2010.  Registration Requested.

Chef Violette Presents Lebanese Cooking June 29th

Host "Chef Violette" has presented a French cooking class, as well as a Middle Eastern Cooking class.  She returns to present a cooking demonstration and tasting of Lebanese Cuisine on June 29th at 7:00 pm. These evenings feature a fun, educational cooking lesson with tips & tastings!  Everyone in attendance will leave with Violette's authentic recipes.  This program is free, but registration is required.  Participants must be 18 and older.  Please call the library to sign up or register online.

 

Chef Violette Humsi, a circulation clerk at the FFL, is a native of Lebanon.  She is an adjunct professor of languages at Syracuse University and Cortland State College.

Fayetteville Library Fundraiser "A Novel Affair" to honor Daniel Hege, Music Director of the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra
The Fayetteville Free Library will hold their annual fundraiser, A Novel Affair, on Friday, May 21st, 2010. This year the committee will honor Daniel Hege, Music Director of the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra. Sue Considine, Executive Director of the Fayetteville Free Library, states, "This annual community event has become a vital piece in the library's funding structure, enhancing the generous support of the taxpayers. "  She continues, "We look forward to a fun and exciting event this year and encourage the public to come out to support Mr. Hege."

This annual gala evening is black tie optional, and is a grand tradition for supporters of the FFL. The event features cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, gourmet food stations, live music, a silent auction and a raffle. Invitations are available now at the library front desk or call 637-6374 x 2 for more information.
